CCCC

CCCC's Pedagogical Approach

The pedagogy at CCCC is grounded in physical learning, embodied knowledge, and long-term artistic development. Particular emphasis is placed on connecting theoretical studies directly to physical practice, ensuring that reflection, analysis, and contextual understanding are rooted in and connected to the physical practice.

As a newly established circus education, CCCC is committed to facilitating a learning environment that equips each student to take responsibility for their own learning process. Students are encouraged to actively shape their artistic development through inquiry, experimentation and self-directed practice.

We cultivate a learning space in which questions, dialogue, and exchange are an integral part of daily practice. In line with this approach, we deliberately refer to our teaching team as facilitators rather than teachers, as a way of continuously challenging and evolving the pedagogical relationship between guidance, autonomy, and shared responsibility for learning.

Throughout the programme, encounters with a real audience are considered a central pedagogical tool. Public showings and open presentations are integrated into the education from an early stage, allowing students to experience circus as a live performing art form in dialogue with an audience. This supports the development of artistic awareness, responsibility, and professionalism over time.

Our pedagogical approach is rooted in the CCCC manifesto “Dare to Move” which expresses the values and artistic principles guiding how we learn, work, and create together.
